Description

A triple distilled single malt that was initially matured in ex-bourbon casks before filling a 500 litre ex-Amontilado solera cask from Bodegas Emilio Hidalgo in August 2013. THe ex-sherry cask has proven to be a generous friend the the angels and 43% evaporation has occurred in the last ten years. Expect nutty aromas of dried vine fruitesm apricots, figs with fruit and nut chocolate and flavours of caramel, toffee, prunes, blueberry and quince jelly. Bottled at cask strength.

The Celtic Cask Series range was born from the Celtic Whiskey Shop's strong relationship with the Irish distillers and the European bodegas and wine houses. These are handpicked from some of the more interesting distillates from the length of the country, both single malt and single pot still, and mature or finish them in great casks from Spain, Portugal and Italy. Sherry, port, madeira, and other wine casks have added richness and complexity to the spirit, from the spicy exotic fruits of Celtic Whiskey Cask Se to the rich Christmas cake aromas of the Celtic Whiskey Cask Tri Deag. The range is growing all the time, but with each edition being a once-off, they sell out very quickly.
